Launch - NORRAG Special Issue 05 on Domestic Financing: Tax and Education
The online launch of NORRAG Special Issue 05 (NSI 05), “Domestic Financing: Tax and Education”, will take place on 23 November 2020 at 2pm CET. Much research focuses on international public and private financing for education. NSI 05 focuses on the main source of funding for education: taxes. In this NSI, researchers, practitioners and advocates examine the need to increase the size of the public purse, and the share that is dedicated to education. This launch highlights some of the global and national perspectives in NSI 05, and gives participants the opportunity to pose questions to these experts.

After an introduction by the guest editor, David Archer from ActionAid, six authors of articles in NSI 05 will present global and national perspectives on the question of tax justice and education. Discussant Camila Croso, Director of Education at the Open Society Foundations, will respond to the themes raised in NSI 05. The panel discussion will be followed by a Q&A with the audience.

The launch event, which takes place online, is oriented towards researchers, policymakers, practitioners and advocates who are interested and engaged in education broadly, and education financing specifically.
